    Can you forward, or tell me where to find, the difference in the spin and trajectory between similarly struck Pro V1, V1x, NXT Tour and NXT Tour S balls?  e.g. Which one will tend to launch higher and softer? Which will tend to spin more?  What performance differences are there between the equivalent ProV and NXT series?

    I've tried all of them at one point or another.  The Pro Vs are just WAY TOO EXPENSIVE to use on a regular basis.  However, I want to make my decisions based on performance facts.  If I make a compromise I want to understand what it is.

    I spent all of last year intentionally playing lots of different balls.  Right now, the Titleist NXT Tour S and the cally Chrome are my go to balls.  This year I want to pick one and go with it the whole year.

    Please give me some facts!  I'm way tired of every advertisement claiming longer, straighter, blah, blah, blah.  We golfers need some real info.

    Frustrated with golf ball advertisement that only appeals to the emotional side of the golfer.  Facts are what make us better.

    Well, from my experience playing each of the balls you mentioned, my run away favorite would be the Pro V1X, and I'll tell you why. The ball flight of this ball is much easier to control. If your hitting into the wind, and need to keep it low, I found that it was easiest with this ball. This ball also tends to go farther than any of the other balls you mentioned as well. If you didn't want to spend forty dollars on a dozen balls, that's completely understandable. In that case I would plat the NXT Tour, knowing that the other two you mentioned were around the same price. The ball I play on a regular day basis would be the Pro V1X, and it will offer you the most from the attributes you mentioned.

    Gary - I'm agreeing with Alex to some extent. Besides the statistics supplied by the golf Iron Mike, each golfer has a different characteristic to their swing. In my case I started golf 5 years ago and only moved to Titleist balls at the end the NXT era 3 years ago. I finally went with NXT Tour after the NXT's as I was looking to minimize side spin - earlier trials with anything Pro-V never had a chance to only slice to the edge of the fairway - lucky if it stopped on the next fairway. Driver speed is in the mid-80's and NXT Tour and Pro-V1x get me the best distance. I've also tried NXT-Tour S and the Chrome in amber as I can't follow white balls on gray overcast days. I rated them equal and less than ideal. Depending on your short iron/wedge game, the NXT Tour and Pro-V1x will be close - unless you can really generate backspin. I had a chance to test the pre-release 2014 NXT Tour against the Pro-V1x, with a slight edge to the Pro-V1x. I'm in a position to order the 4 for 3 loyalty Pro-V package, and that gets the difference down to about a quarter a ball. No doubt there are just as loyal Tour-S and Pro-V1 users that get their best performance with those balls.

    I know what you mean about the spin on the Pro Vs. Since then I've converted my boomerang slice into a nice draw and pulled out that box again.  Now I can really appreciate the performance.

    I suppose if price was not an option, I'd go straight to the Pro Vs. 

    I do wish all the Titleist balls came in White, Yellow and Orange.  Most days I play white.  On overcast days or in the fall, orange is easier to spot.  When it's getting dark out, those yellow balls are easier to find.

    Titleist dealers announce and there is probably notification on the Titleist site as well. My local club e-mails me on certain specials like this. It is only on Pro-Vs, and you have to order through a local shop/retailer that participates. The GG in town did and probably does on line as well. The deal is buy 3 dozen at the street price and get the 4th free, and you got customization for free. If you're buying 4 dozen, you have to be loyal. It has been announced in the past around the beginning of March and ran through mid-April to place the order.

    Gary, GD magazine does a golf ball review every year in their magazine. A few years ago (they have stopped in more recent years) they showed the launch conditions and spin characteristics of various balls hit with the driver and the wedge. There was marginal differences in driver spin/launch angle compared to the differences with the wedge. Generally speaking you will get a little less spin and higher launch with the NXT Tour, and presumably the Chrome, than you would with a ProV1 or V1x. But you would sacrifice a lot of wedge spin. You could probably go online an find this information on the GD website. Even though it is a few years old it will probably give you a good idea of the differences between a Tour ball with a Urethane cover and a Premium Recreational ball with a Surlyn cover. I love seeing stats like you do. But I also see why ball manufacturers don't provide them. Everyone says their ball is the longest, or spins the most, and it is probably true under at least one specific set of launch conditions.

    Thanks for the reply.  I remember that article.  It was great. It gave a nice perspective on the spin and trajectory characteristics of each ball RELATIVE to the others.  This makes it easier to narrow my search to those in a certain range.

    I don't see why ball manufacturers provide only fuzzy superlatives about ball performance.  bstone seems to be better than providing useful information on the box.  e.g. They tell you how the e5, e6 and e7 will perform relative to each other.  Perfect.  However, they stop short of comparing the e series with the 330 series.

    There is enough data out there to establish a standardized performance measure.  It would be great if it was industry wide, but it would be a start if we had the info from within each manufacturer.

    wpnderful response.  I've been a loyal user for decades along withg other Mfg's depending on the course location.   The Titleist ball line.  I've always respected the support form your company.

    Todays golfer did a very indepth balls test and analysed over 30 models...they have distance side spin trajectory and wedge spin rates....made for some very good reading..

    log on the their web site and have a look would be my advice...it was only done a few months ago as well so most current models are on there
