The New Velocity Balls

    So I like Titleist a lot. I like to use ProV1's or Prov1x's whenever I can. I recently received a sleeve of Titleist Velocity balls for winning my Varsity High School tournament. I was just wondering what's the difference or in other words; how are theses newer and/ or better than ProV1's and ProV1x's? How will they further improve my game. 

    Also, I don't know if this will help with anything, but I have a swing speed of around 95 MPH.

    Thanks for the post. 

    First off, congratulations on the victory, nice playing!

    The Velocity is a lower spinning golf ball designed to maximize distance off the tee. All Titleist golf balls are long, so the main difference is short game control. The velocity does not offer as much spin and control as either the Pro V1 or Pro V1x. My suggestion would be to take both balls on the course and do a side-by-side comparison to see which one fits your game.

    Bubba is right on target - play both and see which you like better.  In most cases, you will be able to tell the difference rather quickly.

    Bubba nailed it right on the head.  I play the ProV balls during the warm months here in Oklahoma, and put the Velocity ball in play for fall and early spring.  I have found Velocity to be very durable and a good ball for the conditions we have.  And the price is very good, so you can save some coin for ProV's for tournaments and such.

    Yes thank you, this was also very helpful. I live in Colorado, so I know how weather can affect the play of your balls.
