    Hello TT Staff:

Wanted to know if we are able to purchase the AP1 Forged Irons anywhere in the states.  The Titleist.co.kr (Korean site) has them.

    Thank you.

They are only offered in Asian markets (where a majority of iron products are forged) with no plans to offer in western markets.  Do know that the multi-material design of the cast AP1 includes an integrated cavity insert that tunes feel, and utilizes high density tungsten for more efficient weight distribution for increased MOI and better distance control.

  3. I was not happy to read your response to the question on the forged AP 1's that you indicated are available only in the Asian markets.  I did not know that you even made these irons until I observed a set in a members bag at a club I belong to.  I talked to the member and he is not a touring pro but was able to get the set from a Footy Joy representative that sells product to his golf store.  It looked like a perfect club for me.  I have been a single digit handicap for many years and have played blades and have now moved top your AP 2 irons since they came out.  Currently I have the latest model which I believe are the 714's.  In the past couple of years I have started to replace my 3 and now the 4 iron with your AP 1 model.  At 63 a little help with the long irons is very helpful.  I have been a long time user and fan of Titleist balls and for a lesser time your clubs.  When I hit the forged AP 1's I was determined to try and find some for myself.  The main reason was the lower offset and that they were forged.  You  can understand that I was dissapointed that they are not available.

I certainly hope that Titleist reconsiders bringing the AP 1 forged to the US.  For one thing Titleist has a very limited offering of irons available to US clients.  The AP 1 forged irons I saw would be a great fit for golfers looking for something in between the current AP 1 and AP 2 irons.

I actually went to a golf store today to see what clubs were available in the market today.  Looking at TM irons was shocking to see the variety of versions available.  I can't imagine a company that doesn't want to sell more of their product and by not having a selection available push their customers to a different manufacturer.  I would order these clubs the first day they would be available in the US.  I am sure I will be stuck with what I have until I change to a different make, but I will hope that Titleist  cares about the golfers in the US as well as in Asia.  Thanks, Bill

    Hello Bill,

We greatly appreciate your feedback and do care about our golfers.  We feel that the four irons sets that we offer cater to all different player abilities.  The AP1 irons will offer the most forgiveness, the AP2 irons will be a forgiving and workable iron option, and the MB and CB will be the most workable option for the highly skilled.

As far as the Forged AP1 go, we wanted to offer this to the Asian markets where the majority of the iron products are forged.  The cast AP1 irons we offer in the US provide our players with great feel and forgiveness.  The advanced multi-material construction utilizes high density tungsten with a steel body for more efficient weight distribution for increased MOI for better distance control.  The mulit-material construction also includes an integrated cavity insert that tunes feel.

Again, we appreciate the feedback from our loyal Titleist players like yourself and hope to continue to offer the best products on the market.

  5. Thanks.  I know I just really like the AP 1 forged because of the lower offset, a slightly larger head, etc.  I know big companies have there reasons for doing things.  It is just that I really liked those clubs when I saw them.  Believe me I will try to get a set somehow.  I have been on South Korean web sights.  I really do like Titleist balls and clubs which I use over anything else.  It is just that when I see a set of TM SLDR's or something like it, I have to consider if they would be better for my game.   I love you guys and your philosophy.  I plan to continue with the AP 2 / AP 1 combo.  I have sold or given my old sets to various friends.  Most think that Titleist clubs are not for them.  I think how you market your equipment has made them feel this way.  If I can find a set of those forged AP 1's I will get them.  I know that they are in the US because I have seen and hit them.  Ebay is a wonderful thing sometimes.  Thanks for getting back to me and I hope your game is doing well.  Bill.
