Just got a new scotty cameron and it really improved the roll and spin on my putts!

Congratulations on your new Cameron. I have been putting with a Cameron for year and I don't think that you can find a better putter.

Andrew which Scotty did you get? I have been collecting Scottys since 96, there is nothing better out there!
I just got a brand new studio select newport 2 and I love it.

Hey there Nick,
I sort of collect Scotty's too - well I have six of them anyway! But they all end up being gamers at one time or another.
You wouldn't happen to have a Buttonback that you wanted to pass on to a fellow Cameronite?
I've been looking everywhere for a 35 " Newport 2 Buttonback but have had no luck.

Just have one Buttonback now and its not going anywhere :)
Hey Nick,
totally understand that. Wish Scotty would re-introduce the buttonback, possibly with a deep milling. What do you think?

I have a Squareback 1and absolutely love it. I now have my eye on one of the California series as a birthday present to myself. I could easily see myself collecting Cameron putters.

Be careful its easy to get hooked! Also be sure to check out Scotty's Custom Shop if you want to add a little personal touch to your putters.

I know, Nick. I know. I fear your advice has arrived too late. I have been looking at the Custom Shop for a while. I have to get another putter (Cameron, of course) before I can let my Squareback go for 45 days though...

Be advised, there's no cure for the Scotty Cameron bug...

Wow, I love the look of the newport with the blue dots! I have a Newport 2 which has the steel insert in the hitting area on the face of the putter. I picked it up a few years ago and really like it. My question is that it seems now that the Newport 2 doesnt have an insert any more (its a solid piece of steel). Has anyone compared the two or know how they are different, or any preference between the two? Also, anybody tried the new Kombi - I see mixed reviews on the web.
Andrew,
Here is my Newport Select that I had customized at the Cameron Custom Shop. They have several different paint choices and head covers to choose from. Just a way to make your putter stand out a bit more.

is that grip firm or is is squishy, because i am thinking about customizing mine

Just picked up a Fastback 1.5 and it's already at Scotty's Custom Shop for some personal detail work. This will be my second Cameron putter (my other is a Newport) I have sent in, so I would have to agree on the addicting aspect. They do fantastic work at the Custom Shop and I love the end result.

Is there that much of a difference between Scotty putters and all others. My current putter is great but I have to hit it pretty good on 20' putts just to lag it close. I've been contemplating biting the bullet and investing in a Scotty but the price is a little steep.
Your thoughts...

its so worth it... the feel blows all putters away... all other putters dont even come close to scottys
Mike WCincinnati, OH
I love my scotty as well. I also enjoy getting ones in rough shape and painting them myself and restoring them. Fun project and doesnt cost a ton of money to have a cool custom putter.

Before you spend the money on the putter, I would recommend going to your local pro shop and get fit for the putter. Once you have your specs (length, lie, weight, grip size, offset, etc.) you can find the putter that best suits you and Scotty can customize it. The big thing that you do not want to do is buy one that is not right for your game. Spend the extra time with the pro or club fitter and get the right one.
Thanks guys. I will definitely give it some thought and research. Just curious... I have in my bag three Vokey wedges, AP1 irons, just bought the 910D3 driver, will be getting the 3wood & hybrid in Feb. Shouldn't there be some sort of discount for a person who has a full bag of Titleist products or a job at Titleist available if I were to purchase the Scotty putter? Or at the very least a hat! Just kidding ( maybe a little serious ). Just goes to show how passionate about Titleist and the game of golf I am.

I hear you there. It's funny to think about, but there really arn't any pictures of me without a Titleist hat on as well. I'm a huge supporter of the company, and recently upgraded my Cleveland to a Vokey while the grooves are still amature friendly. I'm Titleist from Driver to Putter now, and I don't plan on gaming anything else. Best sticks on the market without a doubt.

congrats on the new cameron. glad it's helping you roll the ball better. I got my first cameron in 94 or 95 and have been using one ever since. watch out, it can be an expensive hobby

I've been using my Scotty (Studio Design 5.0 MB) for about 6 years now and just love it. Been to the Custom Shop twice for some TLC as well.

What other club in your bag are you going to hit 25 to 30 times a round? If you are serious about improving your game, in my opinion it is the best move you can make. I changed Scotty's in September from a detour 2, to a studio select 1.5. My putts per round went down to 1.6 per green from 1.8.,and my scores were consistently 75-76 instead of 78-79. Hugh difference. You have the feeling that you can make any putt that is on the green, or even the fringe. As for price, buy a used one. They don't wear out, and they retain their value.

wow that putter looks great i'm gonna send mine to the custom shop too it's a del mar cali ....i love it i'm gonna get a lil personal touch to it cause I think it's gonna be a gamer for a long time and it's gonna be snowing up here for the next couple months so I won't miss it! can't wait!!

Just got my hands on a circle t scotty cameron. I would like to send it to the custom shop to get fit for me to use. I would like to know if this is allowed by scotty as I do not want to loose the circle t stamps but would like to have it personalized. Is this possible? thank you
Don't forget the CS stamps! I rescued a really nice Longneck from a bargan bin and sent it in to the CS for a Loft/Lie and a sweet JYD stamp. I was lucky enough to get one on the extreme toe before they stopped doing it.

Great decision to pick up a Scotty!!! Best putters made in my opinion. I have around 6 that I tinker with and always enjoy seeing and playing around with the new ones he comes out with. Great investment though!!
Scotty Cameron and Titleist the greatest combination in golf.

Be careful, Scotty's are addictive. I am a lefty and I think I have owned every single LH model since the Futura. I picked up a 009 earlier this year though and it isn't ever leaving the bag.
Always looking for a new Scotty at the right price!

Scotty's are the way to go, been gaming a Pro Platnium Newport Midslant, but just got a Studio Select Newport 2.5, nothing like the feel of a Cameron!
