    Hi Joe,  Sometimes when there is fertilizer on the greens, it can get on a putter and eat at the finish.  Also, if the greens are wet or it is raining and the putter is wet and stored with a wet headcover, water can set on it and damage the finish.  We recommend keeping the surface dry and clean  - you can even use baby oil to wipe it down and then dry it.

    We would be glad to inspect it for warranty damage on the putter.  Please take it to your local Titleist pro shop and have them set up a Warranty inspection and repair.  They can tell you if the damage will be covered under warranty and how long it would take to refinish.

    Hi Joe!

    I would also recommend an old toothbrush with baby oil and apply with a light brushing.  RC

    I am a little anal about keeping my clubs clean. After every time I play I wipe the sticks down with a wet towel and then dry them. I do this to all my clubs but most importantly my scotty. I've had it for 2 years and the finish still looks like new!

  5. Spray WD40 in the headcover twice a month.  I have a 1997 newport with the gun finish, and it looks as good as the day I bought it.

    I wish the gun metal finish would come back.  Loved those putters. Mine got jacked a few years ago. :- {

    I agree, I'm like Owen.  I have DCI irons from 97/98 that look like new (minus a few nicks and ball marks) because I clean them religiously.  I'm doing the same with my Scotty I got this year.

    My friends aren't quite so diligent and they look bad.

  8. So i hear people using WD40 and baby oil. Has anyone tried using car polish/wax? Buffing it after each round.
