I have been seeing a lot of conversation about dampening the sound of the new 915's via Hotmelt technique...does this process void the Titleist Warrenty???

Has anyone used this technique to alter the sound of a their new driver?

Hi Dr. K,  Good question - and the answer is yes, if you hot melt any head, you have voided the warranty.

Interesting subject....but if you want Titleist to stand by their products don't mess with what is under the hood.

So Guys & Gals who think your Titleist is too loud...I can guarantee that longer drives in the short stuff will be music to your ears!

    Cheers!

I see no need to modify the sound of the 915 driver head. Yes, if you are hitting the typical range ball it is a bit louder but play a few rounds with it with a proper Titleist ball and I find the sound to be not that different from the 913 driver.

Wow take a perfectly good club and tamper with it.,makes no sense to me Hey but that's just me,I always said if it is not broken  then don;t try to fix it.

I would also expect to see a dramatic change in the performance of the club. The face has a very specific design and is made from a material that has been selected for its properties and performance. Anytime to take a material and perform any type of thermal treatment you change the basic properties of that material. Why on earth would you take a well engineered product and alter it?!?
