146 yd ace with a Vokey 60 degree

I've been playing golf for about 7 years now and I'm just about to begin my senior season at King's College. There's a par three(ish) course near my school that most people make fun of for its sub-par (excuse the pun) quality. The truth it, the greens are hard to hit and are very undulated, making some holes quite difficult.

The 4th hole is a downhill par 3, 146 yards from the back tees, over a creek that guards the green. I was playing with a friend I met the day before who was a contractor working on a job in the area. We played the day before and made plans to play that day as well. It was our second nine and the first time I hit a 56 degree Vokey sand wedge 5 yards over the green.

As I stepped up this time, I joked "I'm just gonna try to crush a lob wedge," thinking I had no chance to get it there. After a full swing, the ball started just right of the pin, near the greenside bunker. After what seemed like a minute in the air, it came down on the fringe, bounced left and rolled about 6 feet into the cup.

My whole golfing career I worried that my first hole-in-one would not be witnissed by anyone since I play the majority of my rounds alone. It was truly a blessing to have it witnessed by a now good friend. It was all thanks to my Vokey lob wedge and a little luck :)

Hopefully there will be more to come...
