During Competition

During Competition

I was playing my first round of the Ted Keller collegiate invitational for my school Virginia Union University. I struck the ball well during the practice round and prior before the first round on the range. A couple unforced errors led to 2 over 38 which included 2 bogeys on my front nine and 7 pars. I was able to get a couple back on the back nine birdying holes, 10 and 13 to get back to even. 14-16 i hit good shots and gave myself chanced but nothing fell. I eventually came to 17, a par 3 playing 190 yards with little to no wind and a front left pin. I hit 5 iron with a babu draw just as i intetended to do so. Although the contact wasnt the best the ball flight was still very good. From the tee I couldnt see it after it hit the green. I assumed it was close. After we all hit one of my playing competitors noticed there was no ball on the green and said "Dude you just got a Hole in one!" As I walked up to the green I was optimistic but It was hard to believe as I thought about all my other times Ive come so close. I eventually got to the hole and there was the ball. A titleist ProV1 #1 with my school logo as I couldnt help but smile. My Coach ironically came after as he was in disbelief of what I had just done. I still somehow felt as if it never happened but my coach was so excited I literally had to tell him we could be happy after I play 18. I made par and shot 32 on the back for a 2 under 70. The final round I shot a disappointing 76 which got me in a playoff. I won on the 2nd playoff hole and was crowned the Ted Keller invitational low medalist!
