After Forty Years Playing The Game.

After Forty Years Playing The Game.

I finally got my first hole in one on September 23, 2020 while on a family vacation; we were playing Andrew Johnson Golf Club in Greeneville, Tennessee. It was on hole 13 a par 3 and the yardage measured 168 yards with a light wind. I pulled a 6 iron and using a titlist TruFeel golf ball I hit my shot, it was straight at the flag when the ball struck the flagpole. Now, I have struck the flagpole on many occasions but this time the pole made a serious rattling noise and I never saw the ball deflect in any direction. I asked Jimmy, my brother-in-law, did he see which way the ball went, and he replied that he thought it went in. We were playing with 2 threesomes consisting of my brother-in-law Jimmy, a family friend Dick and me making up the first, my wife Pat, mother Beckie, and my sister Darlene behind us coming off number 12, another par 3. I told my wife what was going on, so they also got to share in my excitement when I discovered that it had landed straight into the hole on the fly. What a great day and with great people!
