Australian scores his first Hole in One
By Ben A On September 3, 2011
I started on the 4th hole of my home course, Tenterfield Golf Club, Australia. I wasn't playing great until I reached the 18th hole. I pulled out a 7-iron on the 136m/149 yd par-3, and played a draw shot that was going at the hole. It took one bounce then hit a quarter of the way up the flagstick. It then dropped straight down into the hole. Because the hole was uphill and the flagstick for the hole location was blind, I couldn't judge where the ball actually finished. It was my playing partner that saw the ball completely fall straight of the flagstick downwards. However, I wasn't entirely convinced about it, even though I should have. By the time I got to the green, I was feeling nervy as my ball was either out of sight, or in the cup. It was the latter, and I was fulfilled with joy and excitement. I've only been playing golf for three and a half years, but a lifelong dream was completed. And it was completed early. My father has had two aces in his golfing life (his second at the exact same hole as myself) I could now say - Like Father, Like Son.
