The league round was looking close to being cancelled due to weather. It had been raining for a day and a half, the temperature hovering around 50-55 degrees. As we arrived to the course, the sky started misting again and the wind picked up, thought this was going to be one rough round of golf. I started off the 9-hole round par, bogey so I was feeling pretty good. That's when the shot I've been searching for over the last 18 years happened. The pin was 151 yards out so I grabbed my favorite club, the 8-iron. After lining up the shot I made one of the most smoothest swings I've ever made, didn't even feel like I hit the ball; but as I looked up the ball was on it's way toward the pin drawing slightly to the left of the pin. The ball landed softly on the green about 2 yards in front of the pin, made a slight bounce and then slowly rolled toward the cup where it disappeared into the hole. I've never let out such a yell of excitement on the golf course than I had on that shot. I ended up finishing the 9-hole round with my best 9-hole score of one over par. Rounds were on me that night for the bar, coolest thing ever to share with all those hanging out for drink after their rounds.
