Was playing in a 2 day Ryder Cup like event at harvest hill golf club in orchard park ny over the weekend and finally got my first hole in one at the 149 yard 5th hole. I hit a knock down 8 iron the first day and was a bit long. I decided the second day I was going to hit a full 9 iron to hopefully carry the bunker as the pin was placed just after it so going for it was riskier than just hitting one to the middle of the green. As soon as I hit it I knew it was on line. When it went in, everyone went crazy. I saw it go in but I wanted to be 1 million percent sure of it before truly celebrating. And once I saw it in there boy was that a really cool moment. After 25 years of playing it finally happened. I’m an 8 handicap so I’ve had many close calls with them. I’ve hit the pin. I’ve hit the flag. I’ve had them stop mere inches away so this was just an incredible moment. And certainly gave me bragging rights with my buddies.
