While playing in a charity golf tournament at Colonial Country Club, the old site of the FedEx St Jude back in the 70's and 80's, I hit my first hole in 1. #12 was playing 157 yards all carry over water with the pin in the middle. When I hit the shot, I thought it was short and in the water. It hit the front of the green and rolled about 15 feet right in the hole. All the guys in my group were surprised it was my first because I have been playing for 35 years. One of the coolest feelings I've had playing golf. I had actually stopped caring weather I got one or not so it was just not on my mind when I swung the 7 iron. Needless to say I won the closest to the hole competition. Had to spend the winnings on drinks after. Wow!
