On Sunday, January 10, 2021, my golfing mates and I decided to brave the Northeast Ohio January chill for the first round of 2021. We went to Chippewa Golf Club in Doylestown, Ohio and had a 2 hour frost delay before we finally started our round. The greens were like carpeted concrete. On Hole 2, a 140 yd. par three, I hit my Titleist AVX with an 8 iron, as I just wanted to get the ball up onto the front green which sloped from front to back. My shot landed near the front of the green and proceeded to roll out of our line of site. Because of the conditions I approached the green with my Vokey wedge and putter because I had expected the ball to roll off of the hard greens. However, when I neared the hole, I saw that my ball was in the cup! It was a great way to start the New Year!
