My first hole in one after playing for almost 50 years was on hole 16 on my home course of The Club at Pasadera in Monterey, California. The distance to the pin was 150 yards with the green significantly uphill. I played a 7 iron that landed about two feet short and left of the pin. Though the four of us didn't see the ball go in the hole, we knew it was going to be close. As we walked up to the green we could see the top of the ball in the "COVID cup". The ball likely went past the hole and rolled back into the cup.
