Was invited to join in a boys 3 day long weekend Ryder Cup format match play tournament in Bimidji MN. Noel that invited me to join the 10 other guys, nick named me MAGIC, as a sarcastic way of describing how, shall I say, unpredictable my game can be :)
On the second day of matches, I was golfing well, and was the last to tee off on the 158 yard par three number 7, from the back tees. I was expecting the ball to draw a little so when I looked up and saw it going straight I thought it would be right of the pin, but when I lined them up in the air, it was straight at it, all the way. As it was about to land, I said, "get in the hole - GET IN THE HOLE"!!!! It seemed to just disapear from sight but a guy on another tee from a different angle said, "I think-I think,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, it went in the hole".
When we drove up to the green I said to one of my buddies, "Darc do you see the ball?,,, I don't see the ball" We all ran up and I noticed the divot just 6' right in front of the hole, and then the Titileist Pro V1 (number 1) with my (red ♥ball mark) right above the Titliest name! I jumped so high in the air and just started to hoot and howl and then jumped into Darcy's arms. He said the expression on my face was PURE JOY!!!!! The guy on the other tee, even jumped in the air when I looked back at him!
I have often joked about what ball I want on my mantle for the rest of my life when I get my first hole-in-one, and can't tell you how happy I am, it was the most recognized, most famous and most played by the Pro's ball in the world,,,,, a Titliest Pro V1 with my own favorite ball mark a red (heart ♥) right above the Titliest logo and it was EVEN a NUMBER 1,,,,,, it just couldn't be any better than that!!
The Pro V1 (#1) ball, the Titliest bag tag, the score card, a PGA hole-in-one certificate and the pin flag, will all be framed together and displayed proudly on our mantle for the rest of my life, just as I have dreamed for more than 40 years of trying for the elusive hole-in-one :>)))))
P.S. The red heart ball mark I use to mark all my Titliest balls is to remind me how much I LOVE GOLF!!!!!
