I was playing in a Masters Friday morning blind draw tournament at The Moorestown Field Club in Moorestown, NJ. It was cold, about 43 degrees with a 15 mph wind. To make matters worse it started to rain slightly. Our group came to the 8th hole freezing cold, a 136 yard par 3 with an island green surrounded on all sides by a long, skinny sand trap. I was second to hit, the wind was at my back. I struck a 9 iron pure, hitting a high draw that I thought was not long enough and would land in the front sand trap. The flag was front center. The ball landed in front of the hole and went in on one bounce. I stood there, not registering for a second that I hit my first hole in one! My foursome started going crazy screaming and jumping up and down. The groups on the other greens nearby started yelling also. The rest of the tournament, I felt like the Pope, everyone coming up to me shaking my hand and offering congratulations. The best part about the whole experience was being able to celebrate with so many friends playing that day!
