Scott McCarron (Pro V1) birdied the final three holes to edge fellow Titleist golf ball loyalist Kevin Sutherland (Pro V1x) by one shot at the Dick's Sporting Goods Open.
McCarron closed with an 8-under-par 64, one day after shooting a 61 at En-Joie Golf Club in Endicott, NY. In the final round, McCarron matched Sutherland with a birdie on the 16th hole, took the lead on the par-three 17th and then won after converting a 15-foot putt on the par-four 18th.
McCarron posted a 20-under-par 196 victory total en route to his third win of the season and fifth of his PGA TOUR Champions career (he won the Allianz Championship in February and his first major at the Senior Players Championship in July).
Titleist golf ball loyalists John Daly (Pro V1x), Joey Sindelar (Pro V1x) and Woody Austin (Pro V1x) tied for third at 13-under, as McCarron topped a leaderboard that featured 11 Titleist golf ball loyalists among the 12 players who finished in the Top 10 and ties.
Congratulations, Scott!
