The best female junior golfers in the game take center stage this week, as top amateurs age 19 and under have assembled in Augusta, Missouri, all hoping to raise the Glenna Collett Vare Trophy at the 2017 U.S. Girls’ Junior Championship.
And as was the case at last week's U.S. Junior Amateur Championship, Titleist is once again the overwhelming golf ball of choice at the U.S. Girls' Junior. As Boone Valley Golf Club hosts a combination of stroke play and match play competition, 131 players in the field of 156 are playing a Pro V1 or Pro V1x. That's nearly 12 times the nearest competitor with 11 and more than all competitors combined.
Vokey Design wedges also led the field in the approach, sand and lob wedges (192) category and Scotty Cameron putters (62) topped the putter category.
Congratulations to all participants who earned a spot into the prestigious championship and good luck to those who have advanced to match play!
