Depending on which VooDoo you have that tip section might be too soft for your swing characteristics causing the shaft to release too much.

Tipping the shaft 1" will lower your flight but not drastically. You might want to try the Project X shaft.
160yd par 3 with the pin tucked a few yards on the green guarded by a bunker in front. Ball just tracked the pin from the start and never waivered. Bounced once short of the pin and spun back a few inches to paydirt. Used my trusty 690MB 8-iron.
