Just wondering; when you go to play do you take your own balls or is it something only I do? I can't stand hitting 6+ different balls so I take a doz "shag" Pro V1s and swap them out before playing. At least then they will have the same feeling and sound.

Some simulator outlets use external decals on the balls for the system to track. My local X-Golf locations do. Otherwise, yup, use my own.

If I understand your question, it’s “do we warm up with the same balls we use when playing a round?” If so, the answer for me is yes. I must use their range balls for full shots but my pitching, chipping, and putting is always with the same ProV1x model that I play during the round. Once on the course, I never change models.

Great post Todd - It has been a few years since I have played or practiced on indoor golf. Just the same - I agree with you. When I did partake, I always used my own golf balls so that I could get the same feel and hopefully data numbers from the simulator as to what I expect on the course. Of course - I also collected my balls and brought them home so I could have them available for my next session :)
  5. I totally agree! I can't stand hitting a noodle then a supersoft. I always bring my own. However I typically only use 1 or 2 good balls so i don't ruin a whole bunch of them.

I agree I take my ProvV1x balls like to keep the same feel.

I usually use what's there. Balls crack open easily at the simulator, especially soft ones. The compression and sudden impact against the screen makes them less durable.

I usually use a ProV1x rct ball most of the time on trackman. If I’m on a different system I’ll use a regular ProV1x

I play ProV1 RCT balls that I bring even if there are similar balls in the sim.

I use regular ProV1x in my home sim (GCQ) - if I go to one a local indoor range I use RCT.

One will find recommendations on Golf Sim forums to use a ball with a lower spin rate indoors in order to extend the life of your impact screen. For me, keeping the feel (and the stats) the same is more important. For what it is worth, we are in season 6 on our screen and still gtg!

I belong to two leagues at 2 different locations in the Hamilton Area. Both locations have the same setup and use the same Simulator (GOLFZON Vision). Both locations provide the balls, however, I find the better location is the one with all the same ball (cally) as you are getting a more consistent hit each and every swing. Where at the other location with a mix of balls, (ProV1x, ProV, Noodle, swoosh, cally) it s very frustrating as there is that lack of consistency between shots. Having said this, lately we have been bringing our own balls to have a more consistent round at the other location.

Prefer to use my own. Trackman, Uneekor, PGA sims let you. If using Golfzon, then it loads balls like a bowling alley so can't.
I usually only the range so I like to work on numbers and using some gently used Prov1Xs or RCT seems to accomplish what I need as a wannabe pro.
