The 1757 Club and Westfields are the Advanced Fitters in the DC area, while The Golf Care Center in Bethesda is a Golf Magazine Top 100 fitter -- what have been people's experiences w/ them (esp. if you've tried more than one)? Happy w/ my clubs but I'm curious.

    pg,

i did a fitting recently at 1757.  for a local fitting outfit, i think it was pretty good.  they had a trackman setup and an indoor/outdoor hitting bay.  i used one of the regular fitters instead of an expert fitter (just to save a few bucks).  he was pretty good and even noticed a few things in my swing and gave me a tip or two.  he was also able to zero in pretty quickly on my optimal setup.

what 1757 didn't have (and what westfields probably doesn't have) is a real grass tee area and pro v1s on the range.  so my spin numbers may be off a little.  it certainly isn't the experience you'd probably get at manchester lane or oceanside.  i haven't heard of the center in bethesda, but i'm guessing it's an indoor center.  if there's one thing from this experience, you need to go to an outdoor facility.  it was so much different doing a proper fitting at 1757 vs. someplace like golfsmith (which, btw, the new store in tyson's is nice).  also, find a fitter that has a natural teeing area where you can put a peg in the ground.

One difference is that Roger over at 1757 and Larry at Westfields have Level III fitting systems which are the largest outside of our regional and Tour facilities.  The Golf Care Center has a basic fitting system.

It's about 45 minutes north of DC, but I would recommend Clustered Spires Golf Course in Frederick, MD. It is a TPI(Titleist Performance Institute) and they do a great job

I got fitted for my irons at the fitting studio in Westfields.  The gentleman who fit me was Paris Fisher and he was awesome.  They have a great setup and use a trackman.  Most important was the expertise of the fitter and i think you will be hard pressed to find someone better in the area.  Once you get fit for club there you also get lifetime adjustability, which over time is great for irons loft and lie.  I did my research about ever place in DC and decided to go with them. I am very happy and will always go back to order clubs from here on.  Best of Luck
