due to arthritas in my hands i switched to midsize vdr grips in my entire titleist bag. this has done away with the pain but changed the way i release the club producing a slight fade. should i just deal with the pain of regular grips or deal with the new swing ?

You gotta play pain free! I suggest making your irons/wedges 1 or 2 degrees more upright. That can atleast minimize the fade and possibly bring back the draw.

Ultimatley your call, but no pain means you will probably play more, play longer....I my mind that is a much better trade off than the shape of the shot. Plus, from a fitting stand point you could make the lie angles more upright.  Each one degree of lie angle change ( in your case more upright) will move the ball about 10' more to the left . This info is from testing done by the Tiltiest R & D team years ago and it is based on 6 iron ball flight.   You might not go quite as much on your wedges -- more loft and a more upright lie will move the ball more than the 6 iron test.
You also might try strengthening your grip to help produce more release.

Dave, I have the exact same issue arthritis in my right hand and fingers. I switched to VDR midsize grips but with the opposite result, I went from a very slight fade to a very slight draw. I found it to be easier to turn my hands over at impact and seem to not feel like I have to grip the clubs as tight. Jeff
