  1. I have a 710 d2 driver, mostly set at a1. Shaft is 3/4 inch longer. Project x 73c I noticed that the face is mostly worn towards the heal and higher on the club face. My irons are 1/2 inch over about 3 degrees upright and I seem pretty much hit center. I have been trying b2 setting recently but does not seem to make much difference. Any thoughts ?
  2. Typo = 910 driver...

I would try choking down on your driver, and see if that gives you more center hits.  If it does, then I would just get the driver cut down.  You wont lose any distance.  I had the same problem with my driver.

Your Driver shaft is to long! I dont know if you are 6 ft 7 inch tall but the current shaft length of 45 inch is already 1/2 to 3/4 to long for most people. if you are 6 ft 2 or shorter then 44 to 441/2 inch should be standard. you will have more centre hits and a great deal more acuracy and more consistant distance.

I agree with Jakes.  Get some face/contact tape and hit some balls with a shorter driver shaft and see if it helps with your location of contact.

  6. Thanks guys.

Out of interest - Is it simply a matter of cutting off the butt of the shaft rather than the tip? Obviously will get the club pro to do that for me.

If you cut the tip 3/4", you'll stiffen the shaft. If you like the stiffness already, I would cut the shaft on the butt end. If you feel that it's a little "whippy" still, try cutting it 1/4" at a time. Yeah, it'll cost you probably each time you get it trimmed, but at least you'll have a shaft that is as stiff as you want it. If you over-cut the tip to start off with, you're out of a shaft, and that'll probably cost you more $$ than getting it trimmed a couple times.

  8. Get a fitter to cut the shaft, to many people fiddle with their own clubs, if you start to cut the tip you start to play with the flex of the shaft. first cut 1/2 inch and replace the grip. the fitter must add some lead tape to the head to get the swing weight back to current weight. try the club and see if their is an improvement, if it works than get the swing weight measure from the fitter and order the correct weight from Titleist for the head. All I can say is this, take time to ensure you get the length right and the swing weight. the aim with the driver remains, to be as consistant as possible and hit fairways 310yrs in the bush vs 285yrds in the fairway, take the fairway. I have 3 drivers that I had fitted over the past 4 years, 44 inch D4, 441/2 inch D4 and 45 inch D2. the 441/2 inch is the most consistant in length and accuracy, The 45 inch with lighter swin weight is long but struggle to hit the fairways.
  9. Got my pro to take 3/4 off the butt, length is 44 3/4. I put some face tape on to test at the range  - dead center;)

Hit a few drives much longer than normal today - 15 yards longer. Club feels much more solid and compact.

Did not get the swing weight changed. Noticed the 910 has a thing that looks like it is for weights, is this what is used to get the swing weight right?
