  1. Hello all. Long time golfer, first time Titleist user.  I just purchased my first set of Titleist irons. 710's to be exact. I am making the switch from Pro Combos with project x shafts.

Enough off subject. Question is: I have read that kbs shafts once installed you need to add more weight the the head. 2 grams needs to be added back due to the way kbs shafts are made. What is the easiest, and most efficient way to get this done? Without using lead tape.  Thanks all that reply.

Tip weights are easy and available at Golfsmith or Golfworks. Personally I don't like them. Why not use lead tape and put the weight where you want it. I'd try first hitting at a lower swing weight you may like the feel. If not , add lead tape until you are happy. First thing I do with new sets is remove the tip weights gram weigh the heads and add tape as necessary. Many manufacturer put tip weights to adjust head weights in a set especially on forged sets. Sets like AP1/AP2 have weight added to back of club in the head construction to adjust for shaft weight This is a great way to do it putting the weight low and on the perimeter of the head .In general lighter weight shafts need heavy heads to make the swing weight where you want it. The opposite is true for heavy shafts( lighter heads) The tour players clubs I have worked on have weight sorted heads. In the assembly process each head is selected for the desired weight. The only way to decrease head weight is ti grind it off. Another example is a tour player who gets hit heads raw, without the chrome, he then grinds the soles until he gets the sole grind perfect for him. He adds lead tape as he goes. When he gets them perfect he sends them back to manufacturer. They remove and weigh the lead tape adjust for chrome weight and chrome the heads. They look like new off the rack clubs. In short lead tape is good tip weights bad (IMHO). Club manufacturers goto great length to redistribute weight around the head for performance then put 2-10 grams weight in the tip of the shaft??? Not in my clubs!!
