    Hi,

I have tried the Nippon 105T shaft in the AP1 710s in my local golf store.  I have tried regular and stiff and in a simulator, it is hard to tell a difference.  Can you recommend a flex?

I have done the miz swing optimizer and had a 78mph swing, and it recommended Dynalite Gold XP R300, KBS Tour Reg, and Rifle 5.0.  Unfortunately, it doesn't have the Nippon 105T in the database, so just trying to see what flex would be best.

    Thanks

  2. You might want to try the Nippon 950's regular with that swing speed. The Nippon's are great shafts and will help you get the ball in the air.

  3. Jacob, We must have similar swings, since I got the same shaft recommendations as you from the Mizuno optimizer, Dynalite Gold XP R300, KBS Tour Reg, and Rifle 5.0. As you likely know, these are all around the 110-115g weight range. I've hit the Dynalite Gold XP and Rifle 5.0 and like them, so I buy into the recommendations. As you likely also know, the Titleist Nippon 105T shaft is 110g in the R flex. To me, this is a good match with the optimizer recommendations, and I felt comfortable going with the Nippon 105T R flex in a set of AP1 710's I have on the way. As to the other recommendation, I have a different set of irons with the Nippon 950 shaft, which is under 100g, and that is definitely an acquired taste. The Nippon 950 is noticeably light, and may not appeal to you as much as the heavier 105T (which is still not terribly heavy). If you liked the overall feel of the 105T, I'd say it's worth a shot in your circumstances. Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions, I really appreciate it.

I have tried the Nippon 950, but the lighter weight really affected my tempo.  The swing optimizer recommend the mid-weight shafts like the XP, Rifle, and KBS Regular.

It sounds like the Nippon 105T in reg flex would be good.

    Thanks

The 105t plays soft. Don't be afraid to try the stiff especially as you go lighter and lower kick point . Another to consider in that range is DG SL R300. they are suppose to be high kick point low launch shaft but launch high in AP2's.. We are all different try everything ignore what you read.. Get fit and try everything. Play what works.
