  1. Afternoon

Turned 62 and am playing JPX 800 Pros, steel stiff shafts. Not seeing the distance Or consistency I saw before going to these.

I'm thinking about the AP1 712 with the AD 65 graphite shafts. Playing the latest Titelist D2 driver with Kali 65 R shaft & am hitting a whole lot more fairways & hitting it longer as well, that's why I'm thinking about graphite in these irons.

Was down to a 9 before December and winter rolled around. I miss more greens than I should ... Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance,

    Carl in LB, CA

    Carl--

I like your idea of switching to the Tour AD 65I.  You will likely see a higher ball flight that produces increased distance and better ball-stopping ability.  That being said, my advice to you would be to find a Fitting Day in your area so you can hit and compare a couple of different shafts so your new clubs will be custom fit to your swing.

    All the best,

    Drew

  3. Drew Thanks, I called and spoke to the Titleist reps and they pretty mirrored your suggestion. Which is, start with the AD 65, but go to a fitter and try different shafts unil I find the right one for me. Again thanks for your thoughts on this, Carl

First of all, the problem is probably your swing. You have to build a swing to be consistent. Same with your muscles. Do you think that if Rory McIlroy decided to play something else, it would make much difference? It wouldn't because his swing is SOOOO consistent.

Hey Carl; nothing wrong with switching to the AD 65 when you do the fitting look at some light weight steel, if you don't have any elbow or wrist problems you might be able to gain back some distance and have a little more control.  Dynamic Gold XP; GS 95; KBS Tour 90 would be good to start.. Good Luck
