There are a lot of people who seem to get the lofts on their 712 AP2 irons adjusted. Did you?

I did not need to strengthen the lofts on my set 712 AP2s like I have in the past with other AP2 sets. The new 712 spins much less than usual with the Ctaper S shaft. I have them in my bag! My 6 iron launch conditions with the 712 AP2 Ctaper S: 125mph 16* 5800 rpm.

Hmm... that's very interesting, Ryan. I'm shopping for irons and after hitting about 10-12 different sets, it's come down to the 712 AP2 and the MP-59 (through what felt good to me and the amount of consistent contact I was getting with each one). I found the AP2's to be a touch more forgiving, so I've pretty much settled on them.  I know I should be fit by a Titleist fitter, but I will be ordering my set through a good friend of mine who's the head pro at a small course (he is not a Titleist fitter). I was thinking KBS Tour stiff bent 1 strong (because it seems like most people need that done), but now I may go KBS C-Taper and keep the lofts untouched. How much us the upcharge on the C-Taper?

The up charge is the same with the Taper, about $15 per club. They feel siffer than the same flex in the KBS Tour. You may consider a soft step. RC
