HI Team Titleist -- I love my 910D2 but am wondering if you can help make it the perfect driver for me!

I recently switched to my 910D2 from my old png G10 (12-deg. with soft-regular stock png shaft) and am enjoying hitting it - but there's a problem.  I'm just not getting the ball in the air like I was with the G10.  I've tried various settings (I am left-handed and so use the specific set-up chart for lefties) and, even with the loft set at 12-deg,, I'm still not getting the ball in the air like I was with the G10.  The left/right movement is the same as I had with my png (straight to slight fade) and the total distance is equal or slightly longer but it seems that it's such a low drive that I hit now rather than one with any decent trajectory (I don't want ballooning shots but do want decent height).  My D2 has the regular flex Titleist Diamana Lai'li 65 shaft and I suspect that this shaft is not the one that's ideal for me and that's why I'm not getting the ball in the air like I do with my G10.  Can you please suggest a shaft I should try?  Here's some info on my game:

Me:  Left-handed male; 52 years old; Gofling for past 20 years (self-taught but decent)

Handicap Factor:  16.5 (had it as low as 12.2 last year); lowest score 79 once last year (woo-whoo!) on par-72 course

    Driver Swing-Speed:  82-85mph when smooth

Thanks - I really like this driver and sense that it'll be great for me...just hope a different shaft is the key.  Cheers!

    Sal.

  2. Sal:I have the Red Ilima Shaft in my 910-D-3 10.5 Deg Driver,i think it weighs in at around 60 grams and has a Mid/Hi launch,if you get a chance there is usually one in the Titleist fitting carts, you could try this as a option.Tony from Toronto Canada

Hey, thanks Tony -- going out to the range at my club today and will try the shaft...they carry Titleist clubs so that's perfect.  Cheers!

  4. The 'ilima is a great shaft, as well as the Bassara 50. You mentioned that you had a soft regular in your old club, and that you now have the, I'm assuming, kai'li in your Titleist now. The kai'li, compared to your soft regular is a pretty big jump. It's going to play a little stiffer than your old shaft. Even in a regular flex, that shaft is pretty stiff, compared to other regular flexes. Just visit your local Titleist rep and they'll get you dialed in with the perfect shaft for YOU. Wish you luck.
