  1. I have been fitted for a Nippon 950GH Stiff shaft which Titleist do not do. I prefer the Titleist AP2 irons to any other though.

Is the Titleist Nippon 970 shaft equivalent to the Nippon 950GH.

I have tried to find out at different golf shops but no body seems to know and I want to buy the AP2 irons. Please help

The NS pro 970 is a double walled shaft with a lower balance point and a slightly stiffer tip than the 950.  It weighs 103 grams in a stiff flex.

In the AP2 irons, it will be about 1 swingweight lighter than our standard D2.

If your mind is made up on the AP2's then order the NS Pro 970 in a Stiff flex and have them softstepped once, you could even go Regular and hard step to get closer to the weighting you might be looking for.  If they don't perform then you can always just reshaft with 950's.  Just some thoughts.

We used to carry the NS Pro 970 36.5" shaft so that we could hard step, but just recently discontinued it, so you will only be able to hard step the 3-8 iron and the 9 and P will be standard Regs.

  5. Hi Cathi

Is the AP1 irons available with the Nippon 950gh SR (firm flex) Shaft?  If so, where in Denver can I go and test/hit them?  Thanks

    Darryl

Hi Darryl,   We only carry the 970 shafts.
