Will these two shafts produce a ball flight as close as the shaft matrix indicates. I thought the 'kai'li would be considerably lower than the 'ilima. Thanks!

Hi Mike -
It would truly depend on the player. But I would say that they are not as close as the chart seems to indicate. The reason they are closer on the chart than what actual fitting performance may show is based on the torque rating of each of the shafts in regular flex.
A regular flex 'ilima 61 is 5.1 degrees and a regular flex Kai'li 65 is 5.0 degrees.
However the bend profiles of each shaft should produce more of a mid launch in the Kai'li and a mid-high launch in the 'ilima. The chart profile is to help show that the higher torque in the regular flex options would generally produce higher launch and spin than the stiff flex counterparts. I would not rely solely on the chart placement as an indicator of exact performance.
Hope this helps!

Hi Mike I asked a similar question a few days back. avbout the effect of tipping the ilima.61R
I pointed out the same thing as you and I had actually tried both shafts in the 910D2 with the same foft and lie settings. My results were exactly as you anticipate. Mid launch with the Kai'li reg and high launch with the 'ilima 61 reg. When I lowered the loft of the driver .75 degree in my case the 'ilima now had a very similar flight to the Ka'ili. In the end I went with the 'ilima as I decided it gave me the most options and for me the lighter shaft felt effortless to swing.
I also asked about the swingweight differences but I've never got a proper answer on that The Kai'li at 45 inches is confirmed to swingweight at D3 with the 7 gram weight that is in the head on the fitting cart. By using some shaft weight / length tables for drivers I reckon with the same head / grip weight the 'ilima plays around d1 swingweight. I finally got an answer on tipping the
'ilima 61r . Tipping on inch apparantly brings the launch down to mid high and the spin down to midhigh. When you look at the shaft comparison chart I'd say the 'ilima 61r is around the right place but the Kai'li as standardard should be somewhere around the 'lima 71 / ilima 61 stiff positions as an indication to you as what to expect.
Hope this helps Chris
