I am looking to "stretch out" the lengths between my longer irons to fill in my gap between my 4 iron (205 yards) and my 21 degree hybrid (225 yards).  I was thinking about changing my long irons lofts as follows:

    4I- From 25 to 21 degrees

    5I- From 28 to 26 degrees

I feel like this will take my 4 iron from 205 to 215 and my 5 iron from 195 to 200 while my 6 iron stays at 185.  My main concern is that the decreasing my 4 iron 4 degrees will break or damage the club or a repair store wont do more than 3 degrees.  Is this safe to take off 4 degrees with the 735 CMs?  Should I just decrease the loft by 3 degrees and figure its only a few yards difference?  Or should I bend my 3 iron from 22 to 21 degrees and take half an inch off of it?

It all depends on your ball flight. I would highly recommend keeping the lofts you have and to learn to hit a shorter shot with your hybrid. If you are set on delofting your clubs I would only recommend delofting 2 degrees max. I have about the same numbers as you after I delofted my clubs 2 degrees but that was because I have a VERY high ball flight. and i have a bigger gap between my hybrid and 4 iron. (I don't carry a 3 iron) if I want to hit my hybrid around 210 I would just hit a high fade or choke down on the club and hit a easy draw. It's not that hard to learn and with how far you hit your irons you should be a solid ball striker.

    Hope this helps
