  1. hey guys so im trying to figuer out does launch angle give you more distance or lose distance? just wondering so in the future i know what to look for in a driver or irons

if you know any websites that can help me or if you can explain it i will be graseful thanks

  2. Hi Zack -

It's a bit more complicated than just launch angle.  When being fit you are looking for your optimal launch conditions based on your ball flight and spin rate.  Maxing out distance depends on your ball speed and finding your target "window" for ideal launch conditions.

This chart should help (driver only).  You can see that optimal launch for players with 155 ball speed is the upper left corner.  Getting properly fit for your clubs will do the most to help you find your optimal launch for both a driver or irons.

  3. ok thank you this chart helps a lot i think my rpm might be a little high with the d2

    Hey Nick,

Would it be too much trouble for you to post the chart for 150 MPH BALL SPEED?

    Thanks,

    Minh

The chart for 150mph is similar.  Just knock about 10 yards off all the yardages.

Keep in mind that these charts should be used with a fitter to determine your specific target window.
