  1. Team Titleist,

I am a scratch player in my early 30's and play competitive golf. I currently play a G10 7.5 degree with ProLaunch Red X. I have played the driver for two years and does give me great distance, low ball flight, and roll out. I have not been able to find a drive to beat it the last two years. (using spend time with Science Van) I don't switch clubs very often.

I had my instructor bring out a 910 D3 the other day and he built the best option he had in is fitting system for me. It was a 910 D3 8.5 degree in the Titleist Ahina 72 stiff at 44 1/2 inches. I am assuming that means it was tipped 1/2 inch?  first time I have ever hit anything less that 45 inches. He also set the shaft at D1 (standard lie .75 less loft)

The 910 D3 felt easier to hit than my G10 and I think that was due to the shaft having a little bit more play in it...to be honest it was pretty nice...did not have to work as hard in a way....make sense?

I don't want to short change myself....are their any other shafts I should test?

What is the difference between the Titleist Ahina and the Real Dianama Ahina?  - i see the torque goes from 3.2 to 2.9.

I need to mention I hit great on the range and we took it on course for 3 or 4 holes. I hit my G10 and titleist on each tee box. I had a drive on 16 go 12 yards father and one on 17 go about 10 yards father than my G10. On 18th hole all 4 balls where on top of each other. I did not miss a fairway on the 4 holes with the Titleist...it was rock soild for sure. The titleist go my attetion and I am going to play with it this Saturday for a complete round.

Let me know your thoughts.....Is best for me to get with a Titlest fitter with launch monitor....I know the closet facility to me is Kinloch so I have friends there but would have to make a couple calls to get out there. (very private club)

    Thanks!

  2. If I purchase a 910 D3 and have the Ahina shaft tipped 1/2" and finished driver length at 44 1/2"  with .580 new decad grip with 2 wraps of tape, will the swingweight be adjusted to conform to the standard specs of D3-4?

  3. I play the D3 9.5 with Project x 6.5 flex 44 inch shaft. I have played around with the lighter shafts but prefer the 72 grams of the project X. the shaft is very stable and give a little lower flight. I prefer this as we play a lot in the wind. I also prever shorter shaft for controll and have given up almost no distance as I hit more shots in the sweetspot. I plau of a 2, I am 50 yrs old but I am fit and still hit consistant drives of 285 to 295 yrds and I hit the fairways. I cant play like Phil M who blast it 320 but play out of the tall stuff and from all other God foresaken places. I would suggest you try the Project X. I have the same shaft in my 910 Fd 15 deg with 43 inch shaft. this is the best I have ever had. It is long and very stable and is a great back up for the driver if need be. The Only shaft I did not like was the Aldila RIP. some people love it, I found it was the most inconsistant of the shafts I tested.
