I have been gaming SM6's (Yes I am aware we are about 15 generations past SM6) for quite some time now. Absolutely love them and would love to keep vokeys in the bag. However, with the cost of wedges it is tough to replace them in a timely manner. Especially with custom specs the price for 3 wedges can get out of hand quite quickly. Thoughts of going to a different wedge with less or no specialty grinds has creeped into my mind because of the ability to replace every 1-2 years.
However, the appeal of higher end clubs are the wedge grind and bounce options but around me there are not very many options that do wedge fittings on grass to ensure the grind and bounce are appropriate for my game. Has anyone gone out of their way to get a wedge fitting in these conditions and have you seen a major difference in just doing the research online and making grind and bounce decisions based on your own intuition?
