G10's to a CB head is a huge jump.  Smaller head such as a CB is easier to curve the ball with but also much, much less forgiving on off-center hits -- lots of variables here, but depending on your ball speed a 1" off-center hit with CB might cost you as much 10-13 yards. now, is that going to be worth it in exchange for workability.  I have been teaching for 35 years and the idea of trying to "work the ball" for even a 10 handicap is a bad idea.
  However, you might try the AP2's instead - much easier to hit, more forgiving... And more importantly find a shot -- draw or fade ( not a slice) and stick with it.  Lots of tour pros play that way - they have one shot and " dance with who they brung"
  PS - find a good fitter who will fit your outdoors - always best

That is extremely helpful. I got to thinking about this post this weekend while I was on the course. I know you are right as far as picking the one shot I want to hit and I have a little bit of a draw now and I believe that is the shot I need to hit. I will definatley look into the AP2's a bit more given your advice. What would you think about the AP1's or is that too big of a jump?

I am a left handed AP1 player and play off around 10-12. I find them very easy to hit a draw which is my preferred shape.

Personally I love the AP1s, they suit me so much that I have just ordered the 3, 4 and PW. I think I would only look to change these if I can get down to less that 5 handicap or when I want to be able to hit a fade.

My best advice would be to go into a fitting process open minded and make sure you get the right shaft as well.

I just hit the AP1's and Ap2's and the AP2's were a lot nicer to me...I do not like the thicker top line of the Ap1's and they are not as forgiving as they say. On  the other hand the Ap2's were more forgiving than I thought and had a real solid feel. The ball jumped off the face and even for me (15 HC), they were excelllent. I do not think the Ap2's are only for the low HC player. They were really nice, but try em all out and see a fitter. I just saw a regional fitter and it was a great great experience....tried every shaft they had for the driver and the AP2's...I was with him for 2 hours and learned a lot....Ap2's are awesome....new models coming out soon, but I would spend the $$ on a fitting and some AP2's. I loved me some Ap2's!!!

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and advice. I am looking into doing the fitting process with Titleist. I have done this before with Ping so I am familiar with it. I am however, having a little trouble finding a place that is outdoors around the Orlando, FL area. The closest one I have found is up in the Villages which is about an hour or so from where I am at. Also, being left handed it is going to be hard to find a place that has a bunch of left handed clubs and shafts. Or is it?

There is no issues with shafts, the same ones fit right and left handed!

Most fitters here in the UK have left handed standard lie AP1s and AP2s so over your side of the pond there should be as many if not more.

Just call up all the fitters before and ask what they have, thats what I did (I'm left handed too).

The one in the Villages has the Trackman Launch Monitor which is what you want. Make the trip up there. Once you see the stats from the monitor, you can dial in what club and shaft you need.  some of the shafts that will fit you, may not feel the best, but you have options options options!! I actually ordered an extra shaft (RIP70) that felt the best even though its not the one that I was fit for. I was fit for a project X which will come on the club and then I can switch out the RIP 70.  Make the hour commute, it will be worth it.

Ask how much they charge for a fitting....it may shock you but its worth it at the end of the day

A combo set my also be a good idea for example, 4-7 AP2s and the 8-PW CBs
