  1. Dear Community,

I have been playing with my old Titleist 983k driver for a few years now.  I have had several Titleist drivers, but always go back to my 983k.  I have noticed that the Titleist stock Fujikura Speeder (R,75 grams) shaft that came with it no longer meets my needs as the torque on it is at 3.0.  I was thinking of going to the Aldila NV 75, with a torque of 2.8.  I love the Fujikura, but I notice that my swing is bit faster than what it was when I first started hitting the 983k when I bought it new years ago.  I can't swing a Stiff, but love the lower torque as I can swing faster without the head turning over.  Just wondering if the lower torque at 2.8 on the Aldila NV 75 would be a good combination with the 983k head?  I have not been able to find a demo with that combination and just wanted to see if anyone can help me with this issue!

    Thank,

    Carlos

Yep I'm back to my 983K

Them things just don't go away, can't get rid of it. Actually I have 2, one with a rifle steel shaft that goes in the bag every now and then.

Sorry can't help you with shafts.

  3. Thanks Quintin,

Just ordered a brand new NV 75, R on ebay for alot less than retail, and it should be delivered in two days, will stick those in it.  Worth the effort....

    Thanks,  Carlos

Carlos,  what is your handicap or average score and what kind of shot shape do you have with your tee shot when you are playing well.

    Hi Carlos

I am also still using my 983K driver.  On a regular basis I try other drivers but never get the same consistent result.  I also have a 905R with the Aldila NV 75 stiff shaft.  I have to say I am not a fan of that particular shaft.  (hence why I don't use the driver that often).  My swing speed is fast enough for me to benefit a stiff shaft, but I favor Graphite Design or UST.  Funny enough, I also got two 983K drivers - 9.5 and 10.5 degrees.  I got GD YS-7+ in the 9.5 and I got UST Axivcore (9170) , but shaft have low torque and good weight that fit the 983K driver.  I am still enjoying the both clubs.

All the best of luck with the change.

    Cheers

    Mads
