Was fitted for a 910D2 at local Golf Galaxy. The young fitter exxentially matched my current driver performance to a D2 with the Kai'li shart in Reg flex with my current driver. Per launch monitor I was getting similar distance with an improvement in spin and dispersion (more accuracy). Same results with a 910F 2-wood. Bought both. (D2, 9.5 deg and 3-wood 15 degree) Went to the course and guess what? I'm losing 25-30 yds in distance on both. My swing speed is in the low to mid-90s. was getting 250-260 yds with my former driver (FT9 with reg shaft). Now getting 230-240 with the D2. Am more accurate though. Last round had the club set at the D4 setting and was hitting generally straight or with a slight draw. My thinking is I may have jumped too soon with the Reg Kai'li shaft. May need to look at a stiff shaft, either the same model or a different offering. I'm 58, 5'10", 160 lbs. Don't think I'll get stronger as the years go on. Currently playing to a 10+ handicap. I have my doubts about the quality of the fitters, both at the Golf Galaxy and another location I went to yesterday. At this other place the "Titleist Trained fitter" told me at the D4 setting the face was open. Previous discussions on this board indicate as the loft is increased from A1 to D4 the face goes from .5 deg open to .5 deg closed. I would expect the "Titleist Trained Fitter" to know that. Tell me I need to find a different place to go. Unfortunately, haven't found a Titleist demo/fitting day anywhere in the state of Virginia. Maybe later in the season.

Cathi, thanks for talking to me yesterday. I appreciate your help trying to get me fitted with a shaft better suited to my swing.

For those following this thread, with the help of Cathi and the Titleist account manager for Golf Galaxy I have been in touch with the manager of the local Golf Galaxy and will be going back in late next week for an additional fitting session to see if we can find a shaft better suited to my swing. Hopefully there is one that will get me back to the 250 yd range. My thanks to the Titleist staff for their help. More to follow after my next fitting attempt. SteveH

I had  similar experience with the 910 D2 and Kai'li R shaft.  l also lost 30 yards from my 909 D3, Your age and swing speed are also similar to mine.  See my post,

    D910 D2 fitting

I have concluded the D2 head created too much spin and too high a launch for me, and the Kai'li R shaft made it worse.  Even with a Voodoo SVS7 and Project X 6.0 there was too much spin. The shot shape looks great but the data does not lie.   I would recommend giving the D3 head a try.

    Good luck  Steve D

couldn't get to your previous post. At least not directly. Maybe if I can find a decent fitter I may try a D3 for comparison. I think there is probably a better shaft combination for the D2 that would work for me. Hate to think about having to shell out another load of $$ for a D3.

Steve D. I note you show having a 910F in your bag also. Did you experience similar yardage loss with it as with the D2? I have the same Kai'li Reg shaft in the 3-wood and am getting about the same yardage as my 3-hybrid. Lost 20-30 yds over my previous 3-wood. Again, I believe I don't have the right shaft but am somewhat at a loss to find a way to experiment to find the right combination. SteveH

    Sorry for the late response!!

I too had a loss of distance with my 910F with the reg Kai'li.  The spin was way too high.  I solved it with the stiff A'hina 82 shaft.  Also solved the driver distance problem with the 910 D3 8.5 and the OZIK HD6 shaft set at C1.  I got my distance back plus 10 yds. with better carry and similar roll out compared to the 909 I had been using. With this setup I also have better accuracy and minimized my wild hook misses. I received great council from Cathi to narrow the shaft search after I provided her with launch data from a couple of D3 / shaft combinations.

Hi Steve, I went to golf smith got fitted for a 910 f 5 wood. We tried the f and fd . Best fit for me was 910 f reg shaft. The Trained fitter made a mistake and gave me the wrong club and now I'm stuck with it. So I know how you feel Mark

I was able to go back to Golf Galaxy last Wednesday for another fitting. Spent almost 1 1/2 hours hitting balls and trying different combinations of shaft, club settings and shaft length. Didn't matter what we changed everything I hit came out within 3 yds of each other on the launch monitor; including my original FT9 Driver. By the time we got around to working on the 3-wood I was about done physically having hit close to 100 balls. May go back later and just look at that. All my numbers are consistent. Club head spead ~92mph, spin rate ~2250, dispersion less that 10yds in either direction. Guess I'm destined to remain a 235 yd driver. SteveH
