Hoping Ryan C and some of the other fitters can help me out.

I have a 905R 10.5* with ProForce V2 stiff shaft (lengthened 1" now and hitting a lot better).  My issue is I feel that I get way too much flight in the air and it kills my distance.

I was fitted at a fitting day by a Titleist Rep but I had told him what I hit today.  He had me in a D3 10.5* with RIP shaft on A-2 setting and I was hitting it pretty well.  decent distance and lower flight than my current.

Today I hit 275 to 285 or thereabouts.  Sometimes shorter or longer depending on conditions and if I hit it right.

My question is can I move to a 9.5* driver (like a D3) and gain more distance?

Question 2 is can a putter like the Del Mar have the lie tweaked on it?  I have a Newport 2 where I had the neck bent a degree or so to better fit me.  I like the Del Mar look (especially the new model coming this fall!!) but I'm concerned of it "fitting" my putting stroke/set up.

    thanks!

    Hi Justin!

    1)  Depends on the driver.  If you are launching on the low end of spin and launch, the D3 9.5 will drop out of the sky and loose distance.  I would experiment at C-2.  That will lower the launch and lie angle and perhaps increase distance if spin and launch are too high.

    2)  Del Mars are very bendable!  You can order to your spec through your local favorite Titleist pro.

9.5? probably not do better.  Why change from the original fitting rec by the Titleist fitter?  And you commented on the fact you were
" hitting it pretty well"  -- stick with the fitting rec
