I found a ball that is a ProV1 but the number and the "Pro V1 was in pink. I loved having the color because then I can tell my ball from my husband's! (I don't like marking my balls). How can I buy these balls??

nancy,
those were a special edition "spring season" ball from last year. interestingly, i don't think they released it in the v1x.
i'm down to my last sleeve of those myself. it'd be kinda cool if titleist released it again next spring (hint, hint).

I agree....even though we are past spring, a release this year would be nice!

I loved those I bought about 4 boxes of them when they came out because I liked having the different color.

We also had some of the limited edition Pro V1's, but we've been hoping for all pink and all yellow editions to come out. A friend of mine showed me ProV1's that he colored with Rit Dyemore dye for synthetics. He uses a small amount in 4 cups of water then, boils the water. He then adds the balls and let's them steep in the solution for 5 minutes. He then removes them, lets them set on paper for a minute, rinses them off and dries them with a paper towel. He made us a dozen "Super Pink" balls and, they were a bit too dark. I've since ordered the dye from amazon and will experiment with a lighter color. The darker pink ball is VERY easy to see in flight.

Todd - Those look great! I like that a lot better than the neon "80s" orange. I might have to add this to the winter project list.

Played one ball for an entire round and only two scuffs were from two nuked wedges.... No loss of performance at all.

I might need to give this a try. Looks like a fun afternoon project!
John, it takes about half an hour. I tsp of dye per cup of water. Boil the water then, turn off the heat, add the dye, stir then add balls. 1-2 minutes works pretty well and I've seen no loss in performance of the balls. Still, they will scuff. I made orange and yellow balls last night and may have made the orange bqalls too dark. we'll see.
Hey Freddy and Todd.....after a couple of months of use, what are your thoughts? How has the dye held up? Any long term affects you've noticed?
I gotta tell you, the dye is not affected by striking the ball...it holds up well. However, if it hits anything really rough, such as a cart path or tree (as mine will often do) it leaves a mark. Also, It's amazing how difficult dark balls are to see on the ground, especially the pink and orange balls. You can see them very well in the air, especially against a gray sky, even better than a white ball. Perhaps once the turf goes dormant, they will be easier to see on the ground.
