Alignment Lines on Golf Balls

  1. I cant help but bring this topic up. Every time I buy new golf balls I have to hand draw alignment lines on all of the balls. Then I go out and play with them and eventually the line begins to smudge. We all know cally has incorporated their 3 lines on their new line of golf balls, when will Titleist start giving us the option to purchase balls with the alignment line already applied onto the golf ball, as well as, giving us the option to choose what color line we want as well. I think it's something that will definitely sell more golf balls and for the people that don't want the line, of course they will have the option to purchase the same balls without the line. Simple as that. What does everyone think?

    Hey Kevin,

Great news! We've had this option available for a while in the My Titleist section of our site (www.titleist.com/.../002PV1T.html). You can customize your balls with alignment lines by selecting those under the logo options. See below:

  3. Hey Mike,

I saw that was available on the site, are there any plans to add newer alignment lines that are longer in length and more of just a solid line? I am looking for something similar to cally's Triple Track in terms of line design. I would love if Titleist had that option.
  4. Can you buy them customized with triple track lines?
  5. I just order some custom balls and I would have added the lines but I had no idea it would be under logos. Maybe you should put it in a place where people could readily see it so that more would order it.

I mark a small blue line through the pro v on the ball.
    I’ve never had it smudge.
What type of pen ball marker you using??

When I use an alignment aid I go with the sidestamp on my ball. It works as good as any added alignment aid.

  10. I use a sharpie to mark my pro v. I use pink or orange and I haven’t had a problem with them smudging. I like the ordering with lines already on them idea.
  11. When I order my 4 dozen, I'm going to get those alignment lines on them! I had to no idea you could do that. Awesome!

I have to say, I've tried every type of marker I can find, including the one shown above and they all fade in one round, usually. If you use them and they don't then, you must be losing your balls too quickly, or only playing when it's dry and hot... Not sure why yours would not be fading. Mine also comes off on my clubface, so even if dry, it would still fade (I guess that is the one single good thing about the marker scenario-it com,es off and I see exact strike location)

Whether it's the red above or the red of a sharpie, I even have a nice Titleist/Sharpie that I was given and love, but they all fade to a nice pink if it's wet from sprinklers in the morning. They fade in one single round.

So, +1 on wishing there would be a longer single line available. That is what I use. A single red solid aim line that goes half way around the ball. I like the other designs, but that solid line is what I use on the tee box as well as on the green and it helps people identify my ball.

The blue and black sharpies might work better. Have never had that issue with a sharpie and I use their fine point permanent marker.

I've tried the cally Triple Track and it is distracting, plus cally golf balls are just awful; Prov1X cannot be duplicated, they are the best. I will order a few with the alignment aid shown above, but I typically like the minimalist markings.

I don't use an alignment line on my ball as I find it distracting to my vision so my preference would be what is already on there as sometimes it doesn't show when I am putting. plus when standing over the ball hitting an iron shot the little arrow seems like a natural marking so it doesn't bother me on other shots. I like mine as they come out of the box just fine. Add 1 blue dot to mark my ball and away we go. Lol

Actually stopped putting lines on mine, found them to be distracting than helpful......use the alignment on the putter and driver as my aide. May not work for everyone.

For those wanting another option, golfballs.com has a thing called AlignXL that can be added to Titleist balls when purchased through them. I personally like using direct purchase through Titleist as much as I can but this gives a longer, bolder personalized line if you need it.
  21. I have been putting 3 lines on
my pro V for years just like mike showed us on when you custom order. I find that the outside lines are more visible if you have any variation of leveling on the green when I putt. Now I also turn the lines on the tee so it helps me when I drive. This way it gives me a visual aid to align the face of my driver before I start my backswing. Keeps me focused on hitting it square. Can see if I’m coming over the to or hitting it off the heel. Been working for me for years.

I've always used the sidestamp to line up putts but I really like that "Team Titleist" alignment aid for both setting up drives and putts.

One dot under the number, both sides of the ball. Color varies depending which Sharpie is in the bag that week.

I LOVE the new enhanced alignment Pro V1’s. I don’t know how I could ever go back to non enhanced alignment balls. This is so much easier then drawing a line on my ball that always gets smudged or ends up on my clubs. I have also been using the alignment aid to line up all of my shots from a tee, with my driver and on par 3’s. I feel it has been very helpful for my game.

I have always used the line on the putter head. I figure what am I lining up, the ball or the putter head. Guess it is choices. If you contact the ball correctly on line with the putter it should stay true.
