First of all I want to send my thanks and great appreciation to Titleist for the samples. I was surprised and elated to receive them for viewing the web cast.

    My test.

I went to our range before we were to play. I excuted my normal warm up routine and ran thru my clubs from Pw to long  irons. Then to the big boys. After the range follows the practice green for some short iron warm up and Scotty Cameron strokes.

Frirst I did notice some difference with the feel of the new verses the old . The 1x felt softer than the both the old  pro v. and the new pro v. The new pro v 1  felt firmer than the old. I did feel on these slow greens that the new prov 1 seemed to roll out a little more.

Second. I drove over to one of the unused holes on the course, I teed up 2 each of the PROv1 (2010) ,  the new Pro v and 1x. I  also included one Calloway, one bridgestone . All eight drives were in the fairway and a tight group pattern. The new pro v1s  topped the distance, followed by the old pro v's,, then the pro v 1 x , bridgestone and another prov 1 x and cally.

Third I moved to the 150 mark. Dropped all eight balls and in no particular order hit to the green, New pro v1 hit 10 feet short of the flagstick and rolled 6 feet past. the second hit slightly further to the left fringe and stayed in fringe, the older pro v hit short right side of fringe and rolled on short and the second hit short of new prov ball mark and stopped. Both 1x's hit short of flag and stopped within 4 fo 5 feet of their ball mark , which was about 5 feet shorter of the new pro v ballmark. the cally and bridgestone were in the area of the 1x's. The mistake I made was not going to a hole that had an easier approach shot to the green, this was a kidney shaped thin green with two tiers that would cause different reactions to where the ball lands. But the results were not less that expected. The new pro v1 off the iron face on the approach felt very very strong and solid.  I do put a lot of spin on the ball with my irons. And we did have gust of at some points a 3 club adjustment these test were done downwind or a very slight cross wind direction.

If my whole day had been as my testing it would have been a caddyshack day ,, haha,, but i only used one pro v1 in my 18 holes.... i got several laughs and giggles because of this statement,",Now gal( ball) this one is crucial,,all you  have to do is roll to center cup and i will not punish you anymore today... 20 footer in the cup."  But she got me,, 17 she rolled out on my chip and punished me with a bogey,..and 18 rewarded me the 14 foot birdie. now she had had a bad trying day, two cart paths, two tree bounces, and one worm burner, and she did get up and down for one each of the cart paths, trees and the wormer,, but she never disappeared from me and hung in there to finish 18. She looked bad and her hair was ruffled , but like the champ she was she pulled it off.. Hats off Titleist, the new pro v's are wonderful. And the new dimple helps. lol

I like to be  fair on my test and I do throw in the competitions just for the mix, but overall, Titleist makes the best golf balls. Not to mention the Footjoys, the Scotty's, and the vokeys.

ps boys,, wish i did have some more of the "I would rather be driving a Titleist" for all the family cars,,,lol
