You can schedule an online fitting from this website. Based on what you know about your ball flight and driver and 7 iron distance, the advisor can recommend 2 balls that can work with your game. Which ever they recommend, and whichever one you prefer, you should play that one consistently. It is the only piece of equipment you use on every shot.

At least take the on-line ball fitting test which may validate your choice or it might point you to another model. The best question to ask yourself would be, "what do I need most in my golf ball?" It might be that you are a low ball hitter and feel like height would help you hit more greens, or maybe its a need for a low running ball due to playing all your golf in firm, windy conditions, or maybe you just want maximum feel on shots and putts. Each of these questions has a ball that performs better for that situation. Once you pick one, try to stick with it for a while to develop your overall feel with that ball. We had a ball fitting session at BHGC last week and it seems everyone is steered to PV1 or PV1X. AVX is a good ball too. Ball speed is different and very individualistic IMO.

I am on the fence again. I have played ProV1 and ProV1x since the original Prov1! I know the balls change yearly.... I am swinging my driver around 95 mph.. It that fast enough for the Prov1X? Ive lost distance over the years now that im 54. Getting in better shape and playing a few times a week. I did try the tour soft just to try and get some driver distance...

You are carrying a theory that has been disproven for upwards of a quarter century. Each Titleist ball has varying characteristics based on your swing/launch characteristics. Go through the ball selector, get a virtual fitting, or find a local fitting to find which one works best.
To that extent, my driver speed is 85 but I consistently score better with the X. The higher flight gains me distance over lower flight balls like the V. Clearly, the left dash hurts me with both lower launch and lower spin. My second choice is the V. Other than price, there is no hierarchy in which ball to use. The V may be your best option, but based on your club head speed.

Along with what Don has said, I would recommend a new driver fitting. The new GT line is incredible and with the right shaft, you will get much more significant improvement to your driving distance with a change in driver than you will by just altering which ball you use.

I switched back to ProV1 from the V1X for a softer feel. However….my drives seem to sometimes leak right (slice) a tad. I have to believe the V1 spins less than the X.
