Has anybody tried the Louisville Golf Smart Driver? I have it in 10.5 degree loft with graphite shaft and whipping and boy does that thing just rocket. I hit it farther then my current driver! It is so much more consistent. Heck they even hand make their clubs and you can tell when you hit it. The sound of hitting this bad boy on the screw is unbeleivable. So is the sounds. Anybody else use this driver? Tell me your thoughts I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

Persimmon drivers, when hit in the sweet spot, can be almost as long as modern Titanium drivers. You don't get the trampoline effect that is being built into driver heads but you get a good solid hit. the problem is, the sweetspot is so small. If you are hitting it consistently, then you must be near scratch. I think Brian Katrik tested this driver and reported on it with similar results--when he hit it, it went, but the sweetspot was small. and he is probably a plus handicapper. If you're hitting it farther, then it is likely the shaft fits your swing better. Custom fitting shafts is the best way to add distance, as I found first hand when I was fit for the 910. Enjoy the persimmon. It will be fun to beat golfers with the best new technology using it. But when you want more forgiveness, a bigger sweetspot, a toe that will hook back into the fairway and all the advantages you can get for that big tournament, then you'll find the 910 Driver is the right tool for the job. Enjoy, Jerry

Louisville's Niblick line of fairway woods have heads about the same size as a Callaway Warbird. If anyone can remember the Ginty woods, that is the shape. The HL3 hybrid also has a good size head. Tossing a persimmon in the golf bag makes a good conversation piece (most especially the 34H since it is even more rare than a fww of that construction).

Ya but if you hit the ball on the toe with a 460cc then you should have bigger problems. the gear effect of persimmon is way bigger so id rather miss with a 220cc head then hit a toe shot with a 460cc head

Louisville stands behind their products also. The other day at the driving range, the epoxy on the shaft of my 5 wood came loose and the rear of the head cracked. The folks told me to send the club in and they would replace the head under warranty. I rarely use the 5 wood but I have been beating my 10 wood and 34 H to death (the latter two are great 165 yard clubs).

I have a couple fairway woods and a 34H from Louisville Golf. I've also heard a few good things about the Smart Driver. Unfortunately, they no longer make the HL3 34 hybrid. I can hit it 160-165 yards (not bad for something with the loft of a 7 iron) and that is 20 yards more than I hit a 7 iron and 10 yards more than a 6 iron. Their best sellers are the Niblick line of fairway woods. I have a Niblick Vanguard 5 wood (21 loft) and I can get 190 yards on a good hit with it. They discontinued the Vanguard line but still carry the standard Niblick line (from 2 wood to 15 wood). I also have a Niblick Even Stripe 10 wood (28 loft) and I get 160-170 yards. The first time I played a round with the 5 and 10 wood, I shot 42 for 9 holes at Riverwalk Mission. That is with a double bogey on #1, a water ball on 3 (but scrounged a bogey since I hit the re-try 1 foot from the pin) and a botched 3rd shot on 9 (had to take a bogey). Louisville Golf also makes hickory shafted clubs and there is group called Society of Hickory Golf, where one has to use these kinds of clubs in the tournaments.
