Just want to know the rationale for increasing the swingweight for the above from a D1 to now a D2. Thanks.

Hi Greg, The weight of our new Dynalite Gold XP shaft is slightly higher than the NS pro 105T, so our nominal swingweight is D2 +/-1.

    Thanks Cathi,

Just reading the reviews on GD hotlist and the "Not" says:

"We don’t get the switch from the 105-gram Nippon shaft to the 117-gram (S-flex) True Temper Dynalite Gold XP"

I'm curious too what the rationale is for going heavier for the new AP1.

We read that too, but they have the wrong weight for the shaft. The NS Pro 105T weighs 113 grams in a Stiff and the Dynalite Gold XP weighs 117 gr. - a difference of 4 grams. The other difference in the two shafts is that the Dynalite XP will flight the ball slightly lower than the NS pro. We offer both shafts, but the NSpro will build lighter (about 2.5 swingweights - very similar to the way a KBS shaft will build). D2 has been our standard swingweight for many years. If you would like the Dynalite Gold XP's built at D1 instead of D2, please specify the swingweight and they will do their best to accomodate. Please be aware that we do have a one swingweight tolerance on swingweight requests. Our testing has shown that most of our PGA pros were able to differentiate 2 swingweights, but very few were able to tell the difference in one swingweight.
