  1. How come we don't see any women on the LPGA tour using Titleist irons?

Having done inside the ropes jobs on the LPGA & Futures Tours over the last decade, I have a little insight. First the facts: Titleist has an incredible LPGA representative who is in her 20th year on tour. Since Titleist is the chosen ball by 85%+ of the players at every event, she organizes balls, shoes, gloves and club orders for everyone. She also provides a strong presence at AJGA and many womens college events. Their support of women in the game at the grass roots level is tough to compete with. Vokey wedges, Cameron putters, and Titleist drivers are in the bags of many woman pros on Tour. Now opinion/not confirmed: Every company takes different paths to market their brand. Other companies have obviously been more aggressive in signing players to full equipment contracts and marketing campaigns. That is neither good nor bad. If you're a recreational woman golfer, Titleist irons can be yours. They offer lightweight steel as well as graphite shaft options and will build the clubs to your specs. Not quite as easy as all the off the rack selections at a huge retail store, but worth it in the long run due to a custom fitting. Find a demo day or better yet, a certified Titleist professional fitter near you.

Playing brand clubs on the LPGA is a different animal than on the men's tour.  I don't see the same clubs that Stacy and Paula play on display at stores.  Even Lexi plays the orange clubs and not the green clubs for that brand for women in stores.  If a woman is serious about golf, then that person will not be looking for color-coordinated complete sets.  At the club pro shop where I go, they have 3 sets of Titleist clubs on display.  They demonstrate the average golfer, the senior golfer and the female golfer..

My wife started this summer in one of the PGA sponsored intro to golf programs.  I refused to buy her a set with the only designation on the driver of a one wood.  She also didn't like the putters with the complete sets (we got a small mallet that appealed to her more than the massive ones in the sets).  Fortunately she trusted me enough to not get the clubs with the bag she liked best.

In horse and cart tradition, there isn't as much marketing appeal until we can encourage more women to make golf a passion rather than an occasional hobby.  Which can both save a lot of courses and more marriages (net gain over the additional divorces if the husband can't play with the buds as often).

I saw a picture of the amateur that took some of the LPGA players to school at the Canadian Women's Open and she had a bag of Titleists at age 13. Her driving distance average on the Saturday session of the tournament was 287 yards and she is only 15!

Some of the LPGA pros also carry 7 woods, 9 woods and (in a couple cases) 11 woods.  Most of them swing a stiff shaft.
