Just wondering how many have dropped the PW on their iron sets and picked up the 48* Vokey wedge? I mean its only 1* difference on the AP2/CB/MB's PW. any pros and cons?

I am considering of only getting up to the 9 iron and picking up the 48* Vokey together with 52* and 56" (or 54 & 58). What do you guys think?

I have had the Vokey 50 56 60 for the last few years and last spring i replaced my PW with a 46.  It is a great club and much more consistent than my PW ever was.  Both on full shots and around the green.  Highly recommend it

    I switched my 990b pw(49.09) for a vokey 48.06.

SAND the 990b was horrible out of sand, 962 was a great pw out of sand, the vokey I don't know yet.

PITCHING  the 990b I had a hard time with distance control, the 962 I had a tendency to hit left, the vokey is better

FULL SWING I don't know which to say is better, they each have their own good points, but I'm happy with the vokey

DEEP ROUGH, there can't be a PW better than the 962 out of deep rough, I haven't got to test the vokey out yet because our rough just isn't rough yet.

I didn't really like the 48-06 (I played one golf game with it and returned it to the store). First thing is that a 35 3/4" PW is a bit long for my swing (my 9 iron is 35.5"; even in my DCI set, the PW was 35 1/4"). I absolutely love my 50-08 to death (it has the same length and lie angle as my 9 iron). My 9 iron (Eye 2 Blue Dot) is 45* loft so no need for the set wedge (48.5*). With any of my other iron sets, I've kept the set wedge. I'm also pretty adept at working one of them.
