Hey All,
Currently I play the MP-32's and have loved the few sets I have. They are butter soft and are like darts with x-100's in them. As my grooves on my last set start to wear out, I am getting ready to do a bunch of iron testing this winter after the Fry's.com Open qualifier. I have been reading stuff on the AP irons and was looking for some input. Are they a soft feeling iron or a more clicky feeling? Nothing wrong with that, some people like it. I really do not concentrate on "working the ball" too much. My shot shape is pretty straight to an ever slight cut. The only time I want to "work it" is when I need to (usually to get out of a bad spot). As I said, I love my MP-32's, but if I were to give one criticism, it would be on the difficulty/penalty with the longer irons (3,4 especially). They did not do split sets in those days... Anyway. I want to try some Titleist irons and just wondering what people think. Are the APs easy to hit? How are they out of rough, etc.? What about the CB's? I read they are more for people who go down after the ball and take divots (me) vs. the blades are more for "picker's" (not me)? I am a +3.5ish handicap but really do not want to make the game harder than it needs to be -- reason why I just hit the ball straight. I already hit the ball pretty high so I am not looking for something that helps players get the ball in the air. If anything, I am looking for something with a more penetrating flight.
Thanks in advance :)!
