    Hey All,

Currently I play the  MP-32's and have loved the few sets I have. They are butter soft and are like darts with x-100's in them. As my grooves on my last set start to wear out, I am getting ready to do a bunch of iron testing this winter after the Fry's.com Open qualifier. I have been reading stuff on the AP irons and was looking for some input. Are they a soft feeling iron or a more clicky feeling? Nothing wrong with that, some people like it. I really do not concentrate on "working the ball" too much. My shot shape is pretty straight to an ever slight cut. The only time I want to "work it" is when I need to (usually to get out of a bad spot). As I said, I love my MP-32's, but if I were to give one criticism, it would be on the difficulty/penalty with the longer irons (3,4 especially). They did not do split sets in those days... Anyway. I want to try some Titleist irons and just wondering what people think. Are the APs easy to hit? How are they out of rough, etc.? What about the CB's? I read they are more for people who go down after the ball and take divots (me) vs. the blades are more for "picker's" (not me)? I am a +3.5ish handicap but really do not want to make the game harder than it needs to be -- reason why I just hit the ball straight. I already hit the ball pretty high so I am not looking for something that helps players get the ball in the air. If anything, I am looking for something with a more penetrating flight.

    Thanks in advance :)!

I have owned two sets of AP2s and got cocky and bought some TM MB's and I am looking to move back to AP2's.  Hell Watney likes them :-)  He holed out last week for double eagle at 17!  I love the feel of the blades on chip and run shots and can control the MB blades better but if I am slightly off that day and hit heel shots it really affects the distance.  If you hit all 18 greens you don't need to chip right?

  3. The AP1 and AP2 irons are very nice clubs. The AP1's are more forgiving than the AP2's. Based off of customer feedback from the people I've fitted, the AP's work great in the rough, sand...and yes, one said he hit one of the best shots in his life, off a cart path, with his new AP1 6 iron. The AP2's are a tad bit less forgiving, but are more workable and forged, like your old clubs...yet, still pretty forgiving. The CB's are nice too. Since you're a +3.5, you'd probably love the new MB's!

Obviously, the best thing to do is to visit your local Titleist rep and go through a thorough fitting. You may like a 3-4 CB, 5-PW MB combo...or an AP1/AP2 combo. You never know but I can guarantee that your Titleist rep will fit you for the best irons for your game.

    I love the AP1s.
