Ive been playing golf for 15 years and am looking to get new irons form the Titleist 909 MBs. But cant figure out which to choose between the AP1s or AP2s. Can anybody give me some help?

If you are still hitting the MBs well, go for the AP2s. Lofts should be identical.
I have AP1s and they feel great. They do have stronger lofts (2*) vs the AP2s.
Hit them side by side to make the choice.
Cool thanks for the tip and ive got a coach that is gonna come out to the range and look at the shot shape and distances before i do anything

I don't think there's a good 'one or the other' answer to that question. In my opinion the best way to answer that is to go to a golf store with an actual range that will let you try the products on grass tees without tape (I'm in SE Michigan and I usually go to Carl's Golfland, I hear Miles of Golf is also good), and hit them yourself. Try to have an open mind and go with the ones that you hit best. Don't let your idea of what you're "supposed to play" dictate what you decide.

Just went thru the same thing myself. During the fitting process, I didn't pay attention to what I was hitting, just what felt best and had the best results for my swing. I always played Mizzy's but needed a little more forgiveness. In the end, it came down to the AP1's and i 20'S. I hit the AP's further without as much effort but more importantly, straighter. Love em!
Go hit some and you'll know which fit your game.

I am only going to give you my story. I used to own mp 51 muscle backs. I am a 14 handicap. Love those clubs. Played in a tourney and won a set of AP1 . Contemplated selling them, because I thought the ap2 were more comparable. The ran across a PGA tour pro and he said he thought I would be happier with the ap1. So I ask the person that wanted to buy them if I could try them once before making my decision. I will tell you I increase my distance by 2 clubs. I used to hit my 8 iron around 138-145 now that is my wedge. I or rid f my hybrids and now I hit a 4 and 5 iron 180-205. I would not trade them for anything. I was told that I should look into the ap2 when I hit 5 handicap. Hope this helps. Not sure of your handicap but ou will love the ap1 s.

If you go to the Pros that are full bag on this site, about every combination of Titleist irons are in use. I forget if anyone is all AP1, but there are several that are 4/5/6 AP1 and 7/8/9 AP2. As well CB and MB. If someone is making a million using AP1s and the fitter tells me this is the set, it is good enough for me. I've never had forged irons, but after having Vokey wedges I might now prefer the feel of the AP2. But at this point, probably not going to be a game changer to justify another set of irons. $1000 of lessons and ProV1x will likely benefit me more.

Vokeys are cast but have the feel of forged due to manufacturing processes. http://www.vokey.com/vokes-notebook/Faqs.aspx I was told by a local fitter about them being cast so had to verify here @ Titleist.
Whoa, good information. Still, with only a 3 degree gap between the PW 45 and 48 Vokey (used to have a set of 'longer irons' but the PW was 43), I always use the Vokey for pitching because I can definitely feel the shot better. I'd pitch (ditch) the PW if I had to, but it does fill a gap between the 9I and 48 without learning to choke up on the 9I.
Still, the AP1s were still such a great improvement over my former Cobras that I'd now only look at the AP2s when the AP1s get worn down. . Might have been a different choice if we were comparing AP1 to AP2, but it was between AP1 and G20. The only thing I should have done differently is not get the PW and gotten refitted for Vokey wedges but they were all less than a year old. I can still consider a 46 Vokey as a replacement for both.
I like my AP1s. They gave me a 1 club improvement over the Eye 2 irons I carried. I've also eliminated the 7H because I can hit the AP1 7 iron about 5 yards farther. For my long clubs I play driver-5/18 fairway, 4/21 and 6/27 hybrids.
I'm a little more partial to the 50-08 vs the 48. Shorter club and heavier swingweight.
I am in the process of simplifying my wedge setup. I'm going to AP1 PW, SM3 54-14 (bent to 53) and SM4 60-10 (bent to 59). I can always revert to 50-08 (bent to 51) and 54-11 (bent to 55) vice the 53. I previously carried 58-04 and 62-07 (they saw limited use) and found out the SM4 stops the ball just as well as the 62. I can actually hit the 53 off a tight lie and in a soft bunker.

I just had a fitting at Manchester Ln. I was fully expecting to get a set of AP1, but after hitting both the AP2 numbers made the choice.

The 54-14 works better than the 54-11 but I put the 50-08 back in (bent to 49 and shortened to 35.25"); discovered it would have been nice to have the GW on the last shot to the green.
